Lotus is Still Making the Exige and We Love Them For It

[See image gallery at www.autoguide.com]

Yet another new Lotus model has made its debut today: the new Lotus Exige Sport 410.

The Exige Sport 410 is essentially a road legal version of another new Lotus model, the track-only Exige Cup 430.
It features a very similar aero kit which makes up to 330 lbs (150 kgs) of downforce and also has the same lightweight front ‘clamshell’ and carbon fiber air curtains.

Under the engine cover is the same supercharged 3.5-liter Toyota-sourced V6 engine found in so many other Lotus products, which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It’s a bit less powerful than the 430 hp version found in the 430 Cup, making 410 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The Sport 410 is still ridiculously quick, however, capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 3.3s and reaching a top speed of 180 mph.

Other relevant equipment includes the Exige Cup 430’s adjustable three-way dampers, Eibach adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and four-piston AP Racing brakes. A performance exhaust system is also available as an option, improving the V6’s sound and shedding about 22 lbs of weight from the already light package. There’s also carbon fiber interior trim offered as an option, along with a myriad of motorsport-inspired equipment such as electrical system cut off, a fire extinguisher, airbag deletion, 4-point harnesses and an FIA-spec roll cage.

Like other Lotus vehicles, the Exige Sport 410 can also be ordered through the Lotus Exclusive program, allowing customers to choose from a near endless array of exterior colors, interior upholstery and more. It will also be offered in both coupe and roadster bodystyles.

Pricing and availability details for the Exige Sport 410 have yet to be announced.
